Job description

Lab Technician (Part Time)
We are searching for an experienced Lab Technician (Part Time) at our Feasterville facility.
Position Summary
Support Technical Services team with testing, prototype sample making and lab organization.
Primary Responsibilities / Essential Functions
  • Prototypes samples for customers including pouches, trim cut lids, sealed trays and other special requests.

  • Perform material testing in support of qualifications and validations for new or changing structures.

  • General lab upkeep, housekeeping and organization.

Basic Qualifications
Education
  • High school diploma or GED required.

Experience
  • Minimum related work experience required.

  • Demonstrate ability in reading and following instructions, attention to detail, trouble shooting, basic mathematical aptitude, ability to accurately measure, and ability to effectively communicate.

Preferred Qualifications
  • 2+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, test methods and protocols.

  • Ability to write test result summaries.

  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from engineers, QA team and Sales team.

  • Ability to apply basic math concepts when tabulating and reporting data and sizing prototype samples. Ability to use Excel for capturing and reporting test data.

  • High degree of attention to detail

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Physical Requirements
  • Employee is required to stand, bend, kneel, walk, sit, balance, handle or feel objects; tools or controls; reach with hands and arms.

  • Employee must be able to lift and/or move 25 to 50 lbs.

  • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision; distance vision; color vision; peripheral vision; depth perception; and the ability to adjust focus.

Working Conditions
  • Exposure to R&D lab and manufacturing environment.

  • Hearing protection recommended.

  • Hair, beard nets and smocks required.

  • Exposure to odors associated with manufacturing.
