Part time
72 hours per bi-weekly pay period
1045-2315

The Emergency Services Technician (EST I) is responsible for providing patient care as delegated by the RN.

Responsibilities of this position include:

  • Assists the patient with personal care and comfort measures and performs specific tasks as delegated by the RN, including but not limited to vital signs, IV starts, lab draws, EKG's, wound care, and blood glucose monitoring.
  • Immediately notifies the RN of any change in patient condition or potential safety concern.
  • Anticipates the need for equipment and supplies needed for procedures and care of critically ill patients.
  • Keeps rooms adequately stocked with appropriate level of supplies.
  • Performs patient rounding and responds to call lights in a prompt manner.
  • Documents care provided and data elements required in the medical field.
  • Collaborates with members of the care team to provide quality patient care.
  • Escorts or transports patients, lab specimen's patient paperwork, equipment and supplies to and from departments within the hospital.

Additional duties for LPN and Paramedic:

  • Assists the patient with personal care and comfort measures and performs specific tasks as delegated by the RN, including but not limited to vital signs, IV and IO starts (adult and pediatric), lab draws, EKGs, wound care, and blood glucose monitoring.
  • Administers normal saline intravenous (IV) fluid, approved ACLS medications during cardiopulmonary resuscitation of adults, and oral medications ordered for relief of pain, fever, or nausea based on orders entered by the provider or RN and as delegated by the RN.

Requirements of this position include:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Graduate of an accredited Nursing Assistant certification program, approved EMT basic program, WI LPN license, or WI Paramedic License.
