Job description

Goes Funeral Care and Crematory is seeking a reliable and compassionate Removal Technician to support families by bringing individuals into our care with dignity, respect, and professionalism. This role is part of our Family Support Staff team and is focused specifically on removals and transportation.
Responsibilities include:

  • Removal and transportation of decedents from homes, hospitals, care facilities, coroner’s offices, and other locations
  • Providing respectful and professional care of the decedent at all times
  • Proper identification, handling, and documentation
  • Communicating professionally with families, medical staff, and team members
  • Safely operating company vehicles and equipment

What we’re looking for:

  • Prompt, dependable, and professional individuals
  • Compassionate and calm demeanor in sensitive situations
  • Strong reliability is a critical component of the role
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 100 pounds or more with appropriate equipment
  • Valid driver’s license and driving record that is insurable under company policy

No prior funeral service experience is required. Applicants with backgrounds in funeral service, EMT, nursing, healthcare, or mortuary school are especially encouraged to apply. This is a meaningful opportunity for someone seeking flexible work that makes a difference.
Removals are paid at a flat rate per removal of at least $75, with additional time paid at your hourly rate. Opportunities for growth within our funeral home are available for those who demonstrate dedication and a desire to advance in the funeral service profession.
Schedule: This is an on call, part time position requiring availability for evenings, overnights, weekends, and some holidays.

Job Requirements and Essential Physical Responsibilities

•    A high school diploma or GED
•    A minimum of three months of similar or related experience
•    The position requires the ability to tolerate exposure to hazardous substances subject to government requirements; occasional lifting, pushing and pulling, with assistance, of objects up to approximately 100 pounds; manual dexterity required for clerical tasks; occasional stooping, bending, pushing, pulling and carrying objects weighing up to approximately 30 pounds for short distances 
•    Ability to travel by standard methods of transportation.  
•    Conservative professional dress as detailed in dress code policy
•    Possess a valid Drivers’ License and meet the driving performance standards as determined by management.
•    Varying hours available. There is no guarantee on the number of removals, transports, or hours available to work.  
•    Possess good communication skills and be self-motivated
