Job description

Atlas Molded Products is seeking a full-time and part-time Class A CDL Driver for the Fond du Lac facility.
Class A CDL Driver Primary Responsibilities
  • Will primarily be moving trucks in the yard and making shorter local runs between the two plants in Fond du Lac, WI.
  • Drives truck and/or tractor trailer combination for pick-up and delivery of materials.
  • Adheres to all DOT, AMP and safety regulations. Uses appropriate equipment for each type of movement. Maintains accurate records, logs, and ensures compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines.
  • Performs pre-operation safety checklist prior to operation of equipment and post-operation once operation is complete. Requests and/or performs needed maintenance as required. Responsible for refueling and preparation of equipment, checks fluid levels, cleans equipment externally and internally, replaces bulbs and provides other general maintenance. Detects and eliminates or minimizes safety hazards.
  • Responsible for verifying product labels and shipping documents prior to departure for delivery and with customer. Have customer sign shipping documents. Reports any discrepancies to manager.
  • May be required to perform or assist with loading, unloading, and stacking finished products and/or materials by hand and/or by raising and lowering lifting devices to meet customer requirements.
  • Performs any other functions and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Serves as a back-up to straight truck driver.
  • Must be verified by supervisor and be signed off on procedures needed to fulfill job requirements within 2 months of hire.
  • Works in plant when not moving trucks, operating forklift, operating a press.
  • Operates forklift to load and unload trucks and move material throughout the facility.
  • General understanding of the manufacturing processes, quality standards, equipment, operations, safety requirements and departmental procedures.
  • Load or unload trucks either by hand, forklift, or by pallet jack.
    • Load to maximize board footage on trailers.
    • Maintain load sheets, verify counts and adjust shipping documents accordingly.
    • Unload incoming material and place in proper inventory area.
    • Inspect incoming material for damage and accurate count and notify supervisor of any discrepancies or damage.
  • Maintains appropriate inventory of supplies and communicates with appropriate personnel to order replacement product as needed.

Class A CDL Driver Experience
  • Minimum of 1 year driving experience.
  • Must possess and be able to maintain a current Class A CDL and medical card.
  • Must have a clean driving and safety record working within DOT rules and regulations.
  • Must sign required releases annually to allow AMP to perform driving records check.
  • Must have previous experience delivering to customer locations.

Class A CDL Driver Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Must be fluent in the English language, both written and spoken.
  • Must be able to use simple math and use basic hand-held measuring tools.
  • Able to push pull and/or lift 50-100 pounds and work in extreme weather conditions

Class A CDL Driver Education, Licenses & Certifications
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
  • Fork lift experience preferred.
