Job description

Hiring a relief/as-needed Patient Access Representative to work in the Emergency Department. Shifts vary and could be any of the following:

  • 6:45am to 3:15pm (weekdays)
  • 2:45pm to 11:15pm (weekdays)
  • 10:45pm to 7:15am (weekdays)
  • 7am to 7pm (weekends)
  • 7pm to 7am (weekends)

This position is on an as-needed basis with no weekly guarantee of hours. Ideal candidate will be flexible and available at least once per week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Admit patients to all levels of care in the facility, including inpatients and outpatients
  • Captures all insurance and patient demographic information for a complete registration
  • Answers telephone at hospital switchboard and directs patients as needed
  • Floats to business office registration as needed

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school graduate or equivalent required.

Experience:

  • Experience in a medical setting preferred. Must have good computer and communication skills. Must be friendly and service orientated.

Applicant must pass a background check, health assessment including applicable vaccinations, and drug screen before hiring. Position open until filled.
