Job description

Planned Companies – Dock Attendant – Job Description

Schedule: Saturday Sunday 7am to 3pm Monday Tuesday 3pm to 11pm (32hrs) 

Location: Jeresy City, NJ

Pay Rate: $23.00

Summary

The Dock Attendant is responsible for maintaining a safe, organized, and welcoming waterfront environment for residents, guests, and visitors. This role assists with docking operations, monitors marina activity, and ensures compliance with all safety rules and property guidelines. The Dock Attendant plays a key role in delivering a positive guest experience while protecting property assets and supporting daily marina operations.

 

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Greet and assist residents and guests arriving at the dock in a friendly and professional manner 
  • Provide support with docking and securing boats, including handling lines and ensuring proper tie-up procedures 
  • Monitor dock activity to ensure safety and compliance with marina rules and regulations 
  • Inspect docks, slips, and surrounding areas for cleanliness, safety hazards, or maintenance issues 
  • Enforce policies related to dock usage, guest access, and safety requirements 
  • Assist with coordinating boat arrivals, departures, and slip assignments as directed 
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of the dock, walkways, and equipment areas 
  • Report any damage, incidents, or unsafe conditions to management immediately 
  • Provide general information about the facility, amenities, and local area as needed 
  • Support fueling operations, equipment handling, or minor maintenance tasks if applicable 
  • Assist with special events or high-traffic periods at the marina 
  • Follow all safety procedures, including weather-related protocols and emergency response guidelines 
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support marina and property operations

Requirements:

  • Previous customer service, marina, or outdoor operations experience preferred 
  • Basic knowledge of boating and docking procedures is a plus 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions 
  • Ability to lift, pull, and handle ropes, equipment, and supplies 
  • Reliable, responsible, and able to work independently 
  • Strong attention to safety and situational awareness 
  • Flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and peak seasonal hours
