Job description

Overview
Location: Jacksonville, FL
FTE: Part-Time (.6 FTE)
Shift: Days
The Registered Nurse (RN) provides nursing care to patients utilizing the nursing process and standards of practice for a professional nurse. The RN is expected to perform all staff nurse activities and function as charge nurse when assigned. The RN maintains overall accountability/responsibility for assigned patients, even though some activities/tasks may be delegated to Technical Nurses, Patient Care Associates, and/or Sitters. Assignments are performed appropriately to age and developmental level of patients being served.

Education
  • Associate's Degree required
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • New hires effective June 14, 2017, must obtain a BSN from an accredited school of nursing within three (3) years of hire or transfer
  • New hires or transfers between August 1, 2013, and June 13, 2017, must follow the requirements outlined in their offer letter and job description
  • Employees hired or transferred prior to August 1, 2013, are grandfathered
  • BSN preferred

Required Skills
  • Demonstrates teamwork and professional communication with all members of the healthcare team
  • Ability to learn and apply computer technologies and procedures that affect patient care delivery

  • Licensed to practice nursing in the State of Florida or confirmation of eligibility for licensure upon receipt of SSN

  • Fellowship RNs: ACLS, PALS and NRP within 6 months when required by the department
  • Psych Unit: Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training within 90 days and annually thereafter
  • Professional certification preferred

Experience
  • Less than one year of related experience required
  • One (1) year of clinical experience preferred
