New Horizon Co-op is hiring a Part-time Pharmacy Assistant at our Trader Ridge Food Store in Grande Prairie, Alberta.

What you'll do:

  • Assessing prescriptions to ensure they are current, complete, and authentic
  • Information gathering and data input to assist pharmacists in their clinical assessment
  • Maintain record-keeping requirements and protocols in accordance with the Alberta College of Pharmacy and Health Canada
  • Maintain proper drug storage and security
  • Familiarity with third party adjudication and related problem-solving abilities
  • Answering questions from patients that are within the scope of a pharmacy assistant and escalating questions to qualified team members when appropriate
  • Collaborating with other healthcare professionals where appropriate
  • Prescription and OTC inventory management including daily drug orders through preferred supplier(s)
  • Efficient preparation of prescription products (counting, packaging, labeling etc.)
  • Duties related to prescription drop-off and pick-up (i.e. cash register) and managing prescription delivery services
  • Respect and maintain patient confidentiality at all times
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with patients

Who you are:

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a retail pharmacy environment is preferred
  • Ability to work independently and cooperatively as part of the pharmacy team
  • Professional & caring attitude and attention to detail
  • Provide excellent customer experience
  • College diploma in Pharmacy Assistant program or certificate in related field is an asset
  • Kroll experience is an asset
