What is a part time voice over?

Part time voice over jobs involve providing voice recordings for various projects such as commercials, audiobooks, animations, video games, and corporate videos on a flexible, non-full-time basis. These roles typically allow you to work from home or a studio, recording scripts as needed for clients. Part time positions are ideal for those looking to supplement their income, pursue voice work alongside other commitments, or gain experience in the industry without a full-time schedule.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a part time voice over artist?

To thrive as a Part Time Voice Over artist, you need strong vocal control, clear diction, and the ability to interpret scripts, often supported by prior acting or vocal training. Familiarity with audio recording equipment, editing software (like Audacity or Adobe Audition), and sometimes a home studio setup is essential. Creativity, adaptability, and professionalism help you deliver diverse projects and work efficiently with clients or directors. These skills and qualities ensure you can consistently deliver high-quality audio that meets client expectations in competitive and fast-paced markets.

How do part time voice over artists typically manage multiple projects and deadlines?

Part-time voice over artists often juggle several projects at once, which requires strong time management and organizational skills. Since assignments can range from commercials to e-learning modules, it's common to balance studio recording sessions with script preparation and editing. Many voice over professionals use project management tools and maintain clear communication with clients to ensure deadlines are met. Flexibility and the ability to quickly adapt to different client requirements are key to success in this role.

Job description

About the Position

Ensemble Schools is seeking fun, experienced, and professional voice, piano, violin, cello, guitar, and drums instructors to teach part-time at Rogers School of Music, our NW Minneapolis location. We are looking for teachers who will instruct IN PERSON! Teaching any of these instruments individually is fine; however, any combination of instruments is preferred and will increase the applicants' hours.

Substitute teachers will be contacted when there is a deficit in a main teacher's schedule but consistency is appreciated by both students and school staff, and preference will be given to candidates with greater availability.

Successful candidates will have a strong music background evidenced by a degree in instrumental or vocal performance or equivalent performing experience, a demonstrated love of teaching, experience working with young musicians, a robust appreciation for punctuality, reliable transportation, and the ability to pass a routine background check.

Instructor pay is commensurate with experience and will be in the range of $27-$30/hour. A 401(K) program with employer matching is available to all of our employees after 30 days on the job. Health benefit packages are available for all part- and full-time employees at Ensemble.

Opportunity to advance to main teacher with demonstration of consistency and availability.
