Hearing and Vision Screener (5 Positions) - Part Time, District 6
Classification: Non-Exempt
Date Posted: August 4, 2026
Salary: $21.12 per hour, not eligible for benefits
Contract Length/ Days: (2026-2027 School Year)

JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary/Objective: The Vision and/or Health Screener is prepared to screen within a school setting.  Academic success is directly related to the status of a student's health
Essential Functions:

  • Vision and/or Health Screener
  • Applicant must have the ability to prioritize work and time
  • Ability to organize work schedule
  • Flexibility; knowledge of Universal Precautions
  • Effective written and oral communication skills

  • Ability to meet deadlines

  • Knowledge and acceptance of diverse populations
  • Must be willing to work as a team member of the hearing and vision screening team
  • Inform the nurse or audiologist of any concerns as needed.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality at all times.
  • Prefer experience with children or school health program


Other Duties: Must be able to follow oral and written directions and have the ability to establish effective working relationships with staff and students. Ability to maintain effective classroom management strategies. Visual, auditory and ambulatory ability. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Conflict management skills. Strong organizational skills. Empathetic. Positive relationship builder. Knowledge, skills and abilities sufficient to perform the function of the position as outlined.
