Role Overview

GoTo Telemed is seeking a Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) to join our nationwide virtual healthcare team. In this fully remote position, you will serve as a frontline care coordinator, delivering preventive oral care education, patient triage, and nutritional counseling. Working collaboratively with licensed GoTo Telemed dentists under collaborative practice agreements, you will help patients assess caries and periodontal risks, understand post-treatment recovery plans, and establish healthy home preventive habits without the physical wear-and-tear of traditional chairside scaling.

  • Risk Assessment: Administer structured caries risk assessments (CAMBRA) and periodontal screening questionnaires via digital intake forms and live video.
  • Wellness Counseling: Deliver individualized counseling focusing on dietary factors, dry mouth management, and tobacco cessation (CDT D9993).
  • Clinical Triage & Store-and-Forward Prep: Monitor incoming patient messages and intraoral photo uploads; identify acute symptoms, assist in gathering clinical data for CDT D9996 asynchronous review, and escalate complex pathology to the supervising dentist.
  • Post-Operative Support: Conduct structured follow-up check-ins after routine or surgical dental treatments to review comfort, healing, and home-care compliance.
  • Patient Navigation: Guide patients through systematic intraoral photo capture using their smartphones to support early detection and telehealth diagnostics.
  • Documentation: Record all assessments and patient interactions in our cloud-based EHR in strict compliance with HIPAA and state recordkeeping laws.
Minimum Qualifications & Requirements
  • Degree in Dental Hygiene from an institution accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA).
  • Active, unencumbered Dental Hygiene license issued by a U.S. state dental board (multi-state licensure or residence in a collaborative practice state is highly preferred).
  • Clear understanding of dental hygiene scope boundaries and collaborative practice agreements.
  • Dedicated, private, and quiet home office environment meeting HIPAA privacy standards, equipped with high-speed internet.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Competitive hourly compensation ($38.00 – $52.00/hr) with transparent payroll processing.
  • 100% remote flexibility with customizable scheduling blocks.
  • Comprehensive onboarding and training covering digital health workflows and teledentistry triage protocols.
  • Free access to our proprietary cloud-based EHR tools, scheduling software, and virtual communication platforms.
