Job description

Join Brian Head Resort's passionate team as our Digital Content Creator Specialist. We’re looking for a talented action photographer and videographer with a strong background in capturing dynamic outdoor content, particularly skiing, snowboarding, and biking. This role is primarily focused on creating stunning visual content that showcases the excitement and adventure of our resort experience. Social media and editing responsibilities are important, but secondary to your photography and videography expertise. 

Key Responsibilities

Photography & Videography (primary role)

  • Serve as the resort's lead action photographer and videographer, capturing dynamic moments from skiing, snowboarding, biking, and other outdoor activities.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Director and Manager to understand advertising and marketing goals, offering creative recommendations to bring marketing to life visually.
  • Plan, shoot, and produce high-quality action, lifestyle, and scenic content tailored to diverse consumer demographics and aligned with company goals.
  • Direct storylines, film interviews, and coordinate shoots to create compelling narratives.
  • Organize and manage content storage, ensuring easy access to visual assets for marketing use.
  • Adapt to seasonal demands by capturing timely snow conditions, including fresh snowfall, sometimes in early mornings or evenings
  • Attend events to document high-quality video and photo content, edit promptly, and deliver finalized materials to the PR representative by the 2 PM media deadline for timely media sharing.

Creative Vision & Collaboration

  • Translate Brian Head’s brand guidelines and marketing goals into visually impactful content that resonates with guests and communicates the resort’s key messages.
  • Take a proactive approach to identifying opportunities to showcase the resort's unique outdoor experiences through innovative visual storytelling.
  • Discuss upcoming projects and recommend strategies to enhance current advertising initiatives using your creative eye and expert skillset.
Content Management & Organization
  • Label, organize, and archive all assets using Google Drive and maintain media libraries in all platforms.
  • Deliver finalized content promptly to various teams, ensuring it aligns with resort deadlines and promotions.
  • Ensure all releases, agreements, and permissions for models and media assets are properly documented and organized.
  • Plan and source models for shoots, ensuring adherence to operational protocols, proper model outfitting, and alignment with the goals and vision of each shoot.

Social Media & Content Strategy (Secondary)

  • Manage the resort’s social media content calendar, ensuring alignment with marketing campaigns and brand guidelines.
  • Support social media efforts by producing and scheduling quality content for platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok, maintaining the resort’s tone and brand identity.
  • Track content performance and adjust strategies to maximize audience engagement.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Photography and videography expertise, particularly in action-heavy, outdoor environments like skiing, snowboarding, and biking.
  • Demonstrated ability to pair technical skill with creative vision to produce visually captivating content.
  • Strong knowledge of skiing, snowboarding, and biking, with the ability to comfortably capture all levels of terrain.
  • Ability to create photo and video content in-line with Brian Head’s brand guidelines and aesthetic standards.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, ensuring seamless cooperation with marketing teams and operations departments.
  • Proficiency in photo and video editing software such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and Premiere Pro.
  • Ability to concept and execute content that meets advertising goals and showcases the energy, excitement, and beauty of the resort experience.
  • Drone operator license.
  • Expertise in SEO optimization for video content.
  • Familiarity with tools like WordPress, CRM platforms, and social media scheduling software.

Position Details

  • Seasonal, full-time in-person role. Full work schedule during winter with part-time commitments during summer and unpaid breaks between seasons. 
  • Flexible hours required, including weekends and holidays, based on weather and business needs.
  • Split time between outdoor content creation (40%) and office-based editing and planning (60%).
  • This role requires an in-person presence due to on-site filming nature of the role.
