Course: Editing the Genre Film

In this course, students will learn the skills necessary to successfully edit a narrative genre film. Students will edit in a variety of genres, from comedy to horror, respecting expectations and gaining an understanding of what post-production practices allow each genre to function at the highest level.

What You Will Do:

  • Facilitate classroom lecture and discussions while incorporating innovative teaching strategies.
  • Engage students in cutting-edge technologies and industry trends.
  • Assess student performance and mentor classroom success to prepare them for their chosen career path.
  • Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University's Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University.

What You Will Bring:

  • Minimum: MFA/MA or other related terminal degree with coursework in Film/Video Editing AND
  • one year of university instruction or approval by the Dean.
