Position: Part Time Utilization Review/RN Case Manager
Department: Case Management
Shift: Days
PURPOSE
The UR/RN Case Manager serves as a role model for professional nursing and assists with ensuring that the needs of the patient are met. This may include educating physicians, nursing staff, or collaborating with other interdisciplinary team members. This role must have good communication and problem-solving skills. Duties will include conducting medical certification review for medical necessity for acute care facility and services. They will use nationally recognized, evidence-based guidelines approved by medical staff to recommend a level of care to the physician and serve as a resource to the medical staff on issues related to admission qualifications, resource utilization, national and local coverage determinations, and documentation improvement activities. The RN Case Manager will assist with discharge planning and address any needs a patient may have on discharge.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Graduate of an approved professional school of nursing and currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio.
  • At least three-five years of nursing experience.
  • Working knowledge of general computer skills.
  • Expert knowledge of MCG or InterQual Level of Care Criteria and knowledge of local and national coverage determinations
  • Hospital Case Management Experience preferred
  • Eligibility to remain in position requires a 90% proficiency rating based on chart audits.
