Basic Function/Definition
This is a recruitment to fill part-time assignments on an as-needed basis for instructors interested in teaching in various disciplines. Departments or divisions will refer to the pool of applicants on file to fill assignments as needed for summer 2024. You will be contacted by the hiring manager should the department or division be interested in scheduling an interview.
Essential Duties
Essential Functions:
  • Provide instruction in accordance with established course outlines and expectations
  • Inform students about course requirements, evaluation procedures and attendance policy
  • Maintain required student attendance and scholastic records
  • Prepare and grade class assignments and examinations
  • Participate in the development of teaching-learning methods and materials
  • Participate in departmental, area and/or campus professional activities
  • Participate in the college's learning outcomes assessment program, including course, program, and institutional assessments
  • Perform tasks needed for student records, e.g., submit grades on time to admissions and records

Knowledge and Abilities
Minimum Qualifications/Education and Experience
  • A Bachelor's degree in any social science, humanities, mathematics, or natural science discipline or in liberal studies, as appropriate for the course.
  • A demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students
