Description
Position Purpose:
The Accountant is responsible for recording and maintaining the financial transactions, such as purchases, expenses, revenues, invoices, and payments. The Accountant will work directly with the Business Manager to ensure the accounting function is in compliance with general accepted accounting principles.
Responsibilities:
  • Maintain financial transaction records by establishing accounts and posting transactions to the general ledger
  • Assist with creating budgets, financial forecasts, and quarterly reports
  • Prepare financial statements, such as income statements, balance sheets, and subsidiary ledgers
  • Perform reconciliations of key general ledger accounts, such as bank accounts, and accounts payable
  • Participates and assists with the annual audit

Requirements
Preferred skills and qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent) in business, accounting, or related field
  • 2+ years of related accounting work experience
  • Strong understanding of basic accounting procedures
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products required (ie: Excel, Word)
  • Ability to manage confidential information, multiple priorities and competing deadlines plus maintain an attention to detail
  • Professional integrity required to appropriately follow strict internal procedures
  • Ability to collaborate across teams and with individuals using strong interpersonal skills
  • High level of typing accuracy and speed; a strong knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation required
