Job description

The Part-Time Transportation Driver provides safe, reliable, and courteous transportation for patients traveling to and from approved healthcare appointments and services. This position plays an important role in reducing transportation barriers and helping patients remain connected to their care.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Transport patients safely to and from approved medical appointments and clinic locations.
  • Confirm scheduled trips, pickup times, destinations, and patient contact information.
  • Communicate promptly with clinic staff regarding delays, cancellations, no-shows, or transportation concerns.
  • Assist patients with safely entering and exiting the vehicle when needed and appropriate.
  • Maintain a professional, respectful, and compassionate manner when interacting with patients.
  • Keep the vehicle clean, fueled, and ready for use.
  • Complete routine vehicle inspections and promptly report maintenance or safety concerns.
  • Maintain accurate transportation logs, mileage records, and other required documentation.
  • Follow all traffic laws, organizational policies, and vehicle safety procedures.
  • Protect patient privacy and comply with HIPAA requirements.
  • Immediately report accidents, incidents, or patient safety concerns.
  • Perform other transportation-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Reliable attendance and the ability to work a flexible part-time schedule.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, caregivers, and staff.
  • Ability to safely assist patients with mobility needs, within the employee’s training and physical ability.
  • Prior experience transporting patients, older adults, or individuals with disabilities is preferred.
  • CPR and First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain certification.
  • Must successfully complete all required background screenings.
