About the RoleBanyan Treatment Center's is seeking a part-time Patient Transporter to join our Behavioral Health Support team in Baldwinville, MA.The Patient Transporter provides safe, timely, and professional transportation services for patients throughout their treatment journey. This role is essential to ensuring patients arrive to appointments, programming, and discharge destinations safely and with dignity. Patient Transporters support a structured, compassionate environment while adhering to safety, confidentiality, and organizational standards.Position Information
  • Reports To: Transportation Supervisor
  • Schedule: Part-Time, three 8-hour shifts per week
  • Location: Baldwinville, MA (On-Site).
  • Compensation: $21 - $23 hourly
Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesPatient Transportation & Safety
  • Safely transport patients to and from medical appointments, group sessions, recreational activities, and discharge destinations.
  • Ensure patients are transported punctually and in accordance with scheduled programming.
  • Maintain patient safety, confidentiality, and professionalism during all transports.
  • Provide reassurance and appropriate support to patients during transport, maintaining professional boundaries.
Vehicle & Operational Responsibilities
  • Operate company vehicles in compliance with traffic laws, insurance requirements, and organizational policies.
  • Ensure vehicles are clean, well-maintained, and stocked with required supplies.
  • Report vehicle maintenance needs, incidents, or safety concerns promptly.
  • Follow all safety, emergency, and infection control protocols during transport.
Communication & Team Collaboration
  • Communicate effectively with clinical, nursing, and operations staff to coordinate patient schedules and transportation needs.
  • Report patient concerns, incidents, or behavioral observations to appropriate staff.
  • Support facility operations as needed to promote continuity of care and patient safety.
    QualificationsRequired:
    • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
    • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record for the past three (3) years.
    • Minimum age of 21 to meet motor vehicle insurance requirements.
    • Ability to operate company vehicles safely and responsibly.
    Preferred:
    • Experience in a healthcare, behavioral health, or substance use treatment setting.
    • Knowledge of patient safety, confidentiality, and professional boundaries.
    • CPR and/or First Aid certification.
    Physical & Environmental Requirements
    • Ability to sit for extended periods while driving.
    • Ability to assist patients in and out of vehicles when necessary.
    • Work in a fast-paced, patient-facing environment.
    • Potential exposure to high-stress situations and behavioral health symptoms.
