Job description

Overview

Performs a variety of general cleaning duties including buffing and refinishing of floors, carpet maintenance and the transporting of all waste, recyclables and other materials.

Responsibilities
  • Hand dust, sweep, dry and/or wet mop, spot clean, vacuum, wash walls, windows, sills, clean bathrooms, auto scrub, strip, seal, spray buff, burnish, finish floors, and bonnet buff and extract carpet in assigned areas.
  • Removes all bed linens and replaces with clean linens, cleans mattress, pillows and all other furniture in patient unit. Cleans wastebaskets, lockers, bathrooms, window sills, and floors. Maintains a daily record of all discharge and transfer units cleaned.
  • Collects, transports, and delivers equipment, supplies and waste (hazardous, contaminated and recycled materials).
  • Ensures that all housekeeping equipment is clean, safe and properly maintained. Reports all faulty equipment to the supervisor.
  • Removes drapes, cubical curtains and furniture for cleaning and repair.
  • Replaces all consumable supplies, such as toilet paper, paper towels and soap.
  • Moves furniture and changes light bulbs.
  • Responds to emergency cleaning needs and "OOPS" calls.
  • Cleans cardiac chairs, stretchers, wheelchairs, and other equipment as directed by the supervisor.
  • Operates tow motor, picking up trash carts from designated locations and transporting them to the Waste Management Center.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned.
  • Qualifications
    • High school diploma (or GED) strongly preferred.
    • Ability to read and write required.
    • Prior satisfactory work experience is preferred.
