Who We Are

Located at Thrive City directly adjacent to the Chase Center, Dumpling Time is a high-volume, casual neighborhood concept focused on fresh, handmade dim sum, noodles, and Asian street food classics. We are a fast-paced kitchen team dedicated to serving pristine, flavorful food to neighborhood regulars, food lovers, and massive event crowds alike.

The Role

We are seeking a reliable, motivated Line Cook to join our culinary team at Dumpling Time Thrive City. This role requires strong station prep, solid knife skills, speed during rush periods, and a team-first attitude. Because we are located at the Chase Center complex, flexibility is key—shift times and staffing needs adjust based on game days, concerts, and major venue events.

Responsibilities

● Preps ingredients, sauces, and line stations according to restaurant specs and recipes

● Operates cooking stations (wok, steamer, fry, or assembly) efficiently during high-volume service

● Maintains speed, accuracy, and consistent food quality during peak event rushes

● Keeps prep areas, line stations, and equipment clean, sanitized, and organized

● Follows all health department codes, proper food handling, and safe kitchen practices

● Communicates effectively with teammates and kitchen management to keep ticket times low

● Assists with opening/closing station breakdown, restocking, and kitchen cleanup

Requirements

● Prior line cook or kitchen prep experience in a high-volume or fast-casual restaurant setting

● Open availability for mixed shifts, including lunches, dinners, weekends, and holidays

● Schedule flexibility to adapt to event calendars at the Chase Center

● Punctual, dependable, and consistent with shift attendance

● Ability to learn menu items quickly, work clean, and multitask under pressure

● Strong work ethic and a collaborative, positive attitude with kitchen teammates

● Active California Food Handler Card

Physical Demands

While performing this job, the Line Cook is regularly required to stand, walk, talk, and hear in a dynamic kitchen environment. The employee must frequently handle kitchen tools, knives, hot cookware, and steamers, and occasionally lift items up to 50 pounds.
