Job description

WMCT Tennis Instructor / Site Leader

Arch Amenities Group, the world's leading spa, fitness and leisure firm, is seeking Site Leader Tennis Instructors for Non- Profit West Michigan Community Tennis programs. Site Leader Tennis Instructors are responsible for teaching the game of tennis and education curriculum to students in the community of the Greater Grand Rapids area. This person will be the leader of their site and the responsibilities of acquiring their support team, knowing the tennis curriculum and educational curriculum for each day and week, and reporting all key information to the Community Coordinator on a weekly basis. They will provide tennis lessons and Be Nice curriculum lessons and offer advice and tips to players at all levels. They will lead in group tennis lessons to kids through adults. (hosted by AAG) Year - part- time round work may be available.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach advised tennis curriculum to groups in area parks/schools, or Premier Tennis Center
  • Teach Be Nice curriculum at their location.
  • Report any incidents or accidents to the Tennis Director and or Facility Manager immediately.
  • Implement programs for adults and juniors.
  • Attending required training.
  • Help Support the Hello Insight Youth Survey
  • Potential for continuing at schools in the fall and spring after school or in PE classes.
  • Ability to lead/manage a team of 3-10 student assistants and/or volunteers.

Qualifications:

  • Have knowledge of the game. Have some experience playing the game at a competitive level. (Coach or pro level preferred)
  • Must be USTA Safe Play Approved
  • Knowledge of the game, technique, scoring.
  • Be able to feed balls and run drills.
  • Provide an organized and safe environment.
  • Strong team player
  • Excellent customer service skills and strong work ethic, plus supportive of the parents
  • Efficient, well organized, and able to handle a variety of duties simultaneously.
