Position Description:

Job Title: Recreation amp; Sports Activity Leader

Classification: Non-Exempt

Hours Per Week: Full time amp; Part time Hours Available.

Reports to: Site Coordinator/Director

Locations: Lake Forest

Primary Function:

Under the supervision of the Site Director, the sports, fitness amp; recreation activity leader will assist the program directors to implement and supervise activities for youth ages 5-14. Guiding members to participate in recreational games, activities and organized sports to learn basic game/sports fundamentals, good sportsmanship and development of healthy lifestyles in a safe, fun and creative environment.

Key Roles:

  • Create an environment that facilitates the achievement of youth development outcomes.
  • Promote and stimulate program participation.
  • Provide guidance and role modeling to members.
  • Monitor and evaluate programs, services and activities to ensure safety of members, quality in programs and appearance of the facility at all times.

Expectations:

  • Serve as an ambassador and role model demonstrating our mission and values in a positive and professional manner.
  • Commit to building a safe, child-focused community.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and accountability.
  • Take initiative to analyze and solve problems.

Skills/knowledge Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED or attending college or re-entering the job market.
  • Experience working with children/youth/teens.
  • Knowledge of youth development.
  • Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems.
