Job description

We are seeking a compassionate, dependable individual to provide respite care for a bright and energetic young girl with autism and ADHD. This part-time role offers more than supervision—it is a meaningful opportunity to mentor, support, and empower her as she gains confidence, independence, and essential daily living skills.

As a Respite Care Provider, you will work with her in the home and during occasional community outings, helping guide structured routines and hands-on activities that promote learning in a safe, nurturing environment.

Location: Care provided in the child’s home and during local community outings.

Compensation:
  • $18.42/hour

Schedule:
  • Flexible, arranged in advance with the parent/guardian.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide 1:1 supervision in a safe and encouraging environment.
  • Teach and assist with daily living skills, including light hygiene reminders, meal preparation, and simple household tasks.
  • Support her independence using positive reinforcement and step-by-step instruction.
  • Encourage social-emotional development through structured play and consistent routines.
  • Maintain open, ongoing communication with the family to share progress, insights, and recommendations.

Ideal Provider:
  • Experience supporting children with disabilities or neurodiverse needs (autism and/or ADHD preferred).
  • Patient, empathetic, and consistent, with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Able to follow and adapt to an individualized care plan.
  • Comfortable teaching life skills using clear, structured, and supportive methods.
  • CPR/First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain,

Requirements:
  • Must pass a caregiver background check.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Strong communication and time-management skills.
  • Experience working with children with special needs.
  • Genuine passion for mentoring youth and making a meaningful impact.
