Job description

Part-time Technology Specialist - School of Nursing
Salary: $17.00-18.50 perhour based on a 20 hour work week
Location: School of Nursing
Position Status: Part-time

POSITION SUMMARY:
This positionin the School of Nursing will assist the Assistant Dean for Instructional andClinical Technology and the Online Testing Coordinator with studentexaminations and technical support. The position will post assessments, createproctor materials and instructions, troubleshoot minor technical issues duringexams and proctor exams when necessary. They may also assist with othereducational and lab simulation technology.
DUTIESAND RESPONSIBILITIES:
(This list is neither absolute norrestrictive, but indicates approximate duties and responsibilities which may beredefined pursuant to operational needs.)
AssistOnline Testing Coordinator with posting and scheduling of exams and quizzes.Monitor Basecamp queue for exam requests. Adjust online exam settings to adhereto School of Nursing policies. Post exam to course for desired date/time andset download, upload, deletion and email reminder settings. Create PDFdocuments with exam information and notify faculty and staff of exam codes foreach exam. Post make-up exams as necessary for faculty to administer tostudents.
Create exam proctor packets, student rosters, and instruction sheets.Create online sign-ups for volunteer staff and graduate assistants. ScheduleOutlook appointments for exams, create calendar reminders for staff and otherspreadsheet and document work as required.
Provide basic technical assistance to facultyand students before exams. Troubleshoot student devices including Windows/Maclaptops and iPads to ensure compatibility with various School of Nursingtesting platforms. Provide hands-on assistance during exams to quickly resolvetesting issues with devices and/or exam software. Assist faculty and studentswith exam uploads and confirm all user data has been received. Assist facultypost-exam with retrieving reports, adjusting scoring and posting results.
Proctorexams and ensure a secure testing environment to maintain academic integrity.Follow exam rules outlined by faculty and review rules with students. Check-instudents for attendance and notify faculty of missing or tardy students. Activelymonitor students and room throughout the exam.
Verify students completed anduploaded exam answers.
Assist AssistantDean for Instructional and Clinical Technology with operation of educational technology products for the School ofNursing. This may include electronic attendance tools, Zoom meetings, and eBookresources. May also assist with lab simulation setup, recording simulationscenarios, and assisting during simulation debriefing.
Completes other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum qualifications:
Knowledge of Microsoft Office required;
Knowledge of Windows and Mac operating systems;
Strong written and verbal communicationskills;
Ability to work both independently andin a team environment;
Ability to problem solve quickly andindependently;
Able to function within a complex andhighly collaborative administrative structure;
Working knowledge of computertroubleshooting;
Ability to be flexible with hours ismandatory. Evening and early morning hours will be required.
Preferred qualifications:
Experience working in higher education.
Skilled at using iPads and familiar with online examsoftware.
