Job description

Part-Time. Weekdays, daytime hours, 3 days a week, specific days negotiable.
Position Overview: The Mammography Technologist performs specialized examinations of the breast to help in the diagnosis and treatment of breast disease in women. Mammography Technologists may perform screening or diagnostic exams.
Essential Job Functions:
1. The Mammography Technologist is expected to practice safe procedures and adheres to radiation safety measures under the direct supervision of the Radiology Manager or the Radiologist.
2. The Mammography Technologist will complete patient education regarding the exam.
3. The Mammography Technologist will promote privacy and comfort for the patient.
4. The Mammography Technologist will perform diagnostic or screening mammograms as ordered.
5. The Mammography Technologist will prepare for and assist the Radiologist in the completion of intricate mammography exams, including breast localizations.
7. Produce high quality images for the radiologist to evaluate.
8. Works as a team member within the radiology department and all other departments.
9. Completes appropriate documentation.
10. Performs quality control functions. Able to maintain all Quality Assurance and Quality Control tests and manuals.
11. Assist in compilation and maintenance of statistical data.
12. Follows infection control and safety guidelines.
Requirements:
1. Ability to communicate effectively.
2. Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.
3. Attention to detail.
4. Graduate of an accredited radiology program.
5. National registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Certified by the ARRT in Mammography.
6. CPR certification.
7. Knowledge of radiologic standards, requirements and regulations.
8. Knowledge of radiologic safety, cleanliness and infection control policies and procedures.
