About the Job:
The practice of magnetic resonance is performed by a segment of health care professionals responsible for the use of radiofrequencies (RFs) within a magnetic field on humans for diagnostic or therapeutic purposes. A magnetic resonance technologist performs magnetic resonance procedures and related techniques, producing images for the interpretation by, or by the request of, a licensed independent practitioner. It is the magnetic resonance technologist who performs the magnetic resonance examination that creates the images needed for diagnosis.
What You'll Do:
  • Performs magnetic resonance procedures based on the American College of Radiology (ACR) "Practice Parameters and Technical Standards" and the ARRT "Standards of Ethics"
  • Understands and adheres to the preparation, positioning, coil selection and exam sequences according to the Department Protocol book
  • Actively participates in quality control and quality assurance activities using the "APIE" model
  • Maintains knowledge of all MRI equipment, computers, EPIC and PACS.
  • Prepares and/or administers contract media in accordance with the Radiology Contrast Policy
  • Recognizes emergency situations, initiates code procedures, administers first aid/CPR, as needed and in accordance with specific MRI Safety guidelines
  • Records patient symptom history on requisition

Who You Are:
  • Clinical experience in Diagnostic Imaging Modality, Required
    • OR Completion of an approved MRI education program with registry eligible, Required
  • Certification by the ARRT in Radiology, Radiation Therapy or Nuclear Medicine and/or have appropriate state licensure, Required
  • Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy licensure, Required
  • MRI Registry with ARRT required within thirty-six (36) months of employment required.
  • Ability to obtain BLS during employment
