Saturday and Sunday 9:00 am -1:00 pm

Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm

In-Home Support (IHS) Direct Support ProfessionalPosition Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and reliable In-Home Support (IHS) Direct Support Professional to provide one-on-one support to an individual in their home and community. This role focuses on promoting independence, well-being, and community involvement through personalized, respectful support.

Responsibilities

The Direct Support Professional will assist with daily activities, including but not limited to:

  • Supporting the individual with appointments (scheduling, reminders, and transportation as needed)
  • Assisting with community outings and activities to encourage social engagement
  • Providing support with daily living skills, such as:
    • Light cleaning and household organization
    • Meal preparation assistance
    • Laundry and basic home upkeep
  • Encouraging independence while ensuring safety and comfort
  • Building a positive, respectful, and supportive relationship
  • Following care plans and documenting services as required
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Experience working with individuals with developmental or intellectual disabilities is a plus, but not required
  • Ability to work independently and responsibly in a home setting
  • Reliable transportation, proper insurance, registration, and a valid CT driver’s license
  • Patience, compassion, and strong communication skills
  • Ability to pass background checks and required trainings, including but not limited to PMT, CPR/ First Aid and DDS Medication Administration

Technology Requirements:

  • · Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office Word and Excel, Outlook, and be comfortable
  • using tablets, smartphones, and other general office equipment.
  • · The ability to work with and understand databases is a must, as is the ability to learn technical skills.
  • · Ability to work with and learn various assistive and enabling technology individual's independence.
  • · Experience with THERAP, Sandata EVV systems preferred.
Schedule & Location
  • Services are provided in the individual’s home and in the community, location Rocky Hill, CT
  • Flexible scheduling may be available based on individual needs
