Special Education Teacher
Location: Wilmington, Delaware (On-site)

About the Role

Clarvida is seeking a Special Education Teacher to support youth referred by the public school system in our alternative school placement. Students are assigned for 45–180 days and receive a blended, skill-based learning experience designed to help them succeed academically, behaviorally, and emotionally.

Our small classroom sizes, hands-on learning, restorative circles, and online curriculum create an environment where students feel supported and understood. Teachers work within a close-knit team that helps students build success in the long term—many return years later to share their progress.

Responsibilities

● Deliver individualized and skill-based instruction in small classroom settings
● Implement a blended curriculum using hands-on projects, restorative circles, and online learning
● Support IEP goals and collaborate with school staff
● Maintain a structured, positive, and supportive classroom environment
● Monitor student progress and provide feedback
● Engage in team meetings, communication, and planning

Required Qualifications

● Bachelor’s Degree and Delaware Certification in Special Education
● OR Bachelor’s Degree with Special Education Certification from another state (Clarvida will assist with Delaware reciprocity)
● Able to pass background and criminal record checks
● Meets mandated health requirements (e.g., negative tuberculosis test)
● Compliance with drug-free workplace rules and board policies
