Join us as a Dietician!

Part Time 24 Hours

As a Dietician at MiraVista you will be responsible for the clinical nutrition assessment and care of patients deemed in need of a nutrition consultation. You will assist the Director of Food Services in training and guiding Nutritional Aides to accomplish established standards to meet or exceed customer satisfaction.

Successful Dietician Candidates will have the following:

  • Knowledge of theories, principles and concepts of human nutrition and metabolism.
  • Analytical ability to collect information from diverse sources, synthesize a problem list and to devise/implement intervention.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. This may include explaining clinical, technical concepts to physicians, other health care team members, patients and their families, comforting patients and their families, enforcing policies and regulations in difficult situations and performing other duties requiring a comparable level of communication skill.
  • Experience working with pediatric, teen, and adult mental health patients, including those with disordered eating, substance abuse and food insecurity/homelessness preferred.
  • Experience with food service procedures in a hospital setting and training of food service staff preferred.
  • Familiarity with the nutritional interactions/consequences of psychiatric medications preferred.
  • Familiarity with menu creation involving multiple food allergies preferred.

EDUCATION, LICENSURE, AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelors degree in nutrition required.
  • Registration with the Commission for Dietetic Registration required
  • Current Massachusetts State Licensure for Dietitians or Nutritionist required
  • Completion of Sanitation Certificate Course or SERV Safe.
  • Completion of Massachusetts Allergen Awareness Certificate or equivalent.
