Job description

We seek to engage a student extern to enhance our QA operations and design teams. We have designed this opportunity to support our core functions and enrich the extern's educational journey with invaluable, hands-on experience in a healthcare environment.
The Student Extern, Enterprise Development & Integration will contribute to application support, quality assurance initiatives, and technical operations while developing practical skills in a healthcare technology environment. The department focuses on supporting application systems, improving system performance, and enabling effective integration across platforms.
The ideal candidate is currently pursuing relevant education and demonstrates interest in technology, systems analysis, and problem solving; experience with technical environments or coursework in information systems is beneficial, and any exposure to system support or troubleshooting is helpful; licenses and certifications are not specifically required but a willingness to learn and apply technical concepts is essential.
Work Location: Remote within Houston Texas or surrounding area, Part-time, 19 hours/week, no benefits eligible. $18.00-$19.00/hour.

Technical Support & Troubleshooting
• Resolve complex and non-routine hardware, software, operating system, and integration issues
• Support systems used across the Enterprise Development & Integration environment
• Assist with troubleshooting issues related to supported applications and infrastructure
Technical Maintenance & Updates
• Keep operating systems updated to ensure functionality and security
• Maintain and update system environments consistently
• Support ongoing system improvements and environment stability
Documentation & Environment Management
• Document system environments, configurations, and updates
• Ensure documentation reflects current system state and changes
• Assist in maintaining organized and accessible technical records
Additional Support
• Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental needs
• Contribute to quality assurance operations and design team initiatives
EDUCATION
  • Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent and
  • Required: College bound or in-college students.
  • Preferred: Bachelor's or Master's degree in IT, MIS, Business.

  • Preferred: Seeking a student who is wiling to learn IT software, excellent communication skills, strong analytical skills, team oriented. Prefer a 3rd or 4th level undergrad or graduate student.
