General Description
The Student Photographer's primary responsibility is to capture the full range of campus life at the University of Montevallo through clear, compelling photography. Images may be used on the University's website, across various social media channels, in digital campaigns and in print publications.
Resume and Portfolio are Required.
Essential Job Duties
  • Photographs a variety of subjects, including, but not limited to, athletic games, campus and Student Life events, campus imagery and headshots
  • Processes photos, including culling, editing, renaming and keywording
  • Follows the procedure for filing images in the digital asset archive
  • Represents the University of Montevallo with a pleasant and professional demeanor through all interactions

Education and Experience
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
  • Intermediate to advanced experience with photography equipment, including cameras, lenses, lighting, etc.
  • Intermediate to advanced experience with Adobe software, including Lightroom, Photoshop and Bridge in a Mac environment
  • Able to use personal camera and lenses to photograph with (please note, a camera and lenses are available but limited)
  • Strong organizational skills and an eye for detail
  • Reliable and responsible with the ability to prioritize and complete assignments with minimal supervision
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service mentality
  • A cooperative attitude and willingness to take direction and feedback
  • Flexibility to work between classes with availability on nights and weekends
