Job description

Vetta Sports is seeking passionate and knowledgeable individuals to join our team as Instructional Soccer League (ISL) Coaches. As an ISL Coach, you will play a pivotal role in teaching, encouraging, and building a solid foundation of skills for children participating in our instructional soccer leagues. Leveraging your prior knowledge of the sport and through comprehensive on-the-job training, you will ignite self-confidence and inspire the development and growth of young athletes, helping them to excel at the game of soccer.
Responsibilities:
  • Skill Development and Instruction: Teach fundamental soccer skills, tactics, and game concepts in an age-appropriate and engaging manner. Focus on building a solid foundation for players to excel.
  • Encouragement and Motivation: Create a positive and encouraging learning environment that fosters self-confidence, effort, and a love for the game. Inspire players to develop and grow both individually and as a team.
  • Curriculum Implementation: Effectively utilize Vetta Sports' coaching curriculum and on-the-job training to deliver consistent and high-quality instruction.
  • Game Management: Coach and guide teams during league games, focusing on skill application, teamwork, and sportsmanship rather than just winning.
  • Player Feedback and Assessment: Provide constructive feedback to players to help them improve, recognizing their efforts and progress.
  • Safety and Well-being: Ensure the safety of all participants during practices and games, adhering to Vetta Sports' safety protocols and procedures.
  • Communication: Maintain clear, professional, and timely communication with players, parents, and Vetta Sports staff regarding schedules, progress, and any concerns.
  • Professionalism: Represent Vetta Sports in a professional and positive manner at all times, demonstrating a strong work ethic and commitment to player development.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other coaches and Vetta Sports staff to ensure a cohesive and positive league experience for all participants.
  • Continuous Learning: Be open to continuous learning and professional development through Vetta Sports training programs.

Qualifications:
  • Prior knowledge and understanding of the game of soccer, including basic rules, skills, and tactics.
  • Experience working with children, preferably in a coaching, teaching, or mentoring capacity.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with children, parents, and staff.
  • Patience, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate young athletes.
  • Responsible, reliable, and punctual.
  • Willingness to learn and implement Vetta Sports' coaching philosophy and training.
  • Must pass a comprehensive background check.

Working Conditions:
  • Work primarily takes place indoors on turf fields.
  • Requires standing, walking, running, bending, and occasional lifting of equipment (e.g., cones, balls).
  • Ability to actively demonstrate soccer movements and participate in drills.
Employment classification
This is a part-time, hourly position requiring approx. 15-20 hours per week.
