Job Description
The School of Teacher Education and Leadership is seeking part-time adjuncts to supplement faculty across disciplines of teacher education courses. Specific responsibilities of adjunct faculty are given in their letter of appointment. The specific starting and expiration dates for appointments are noted in their letter of appointment.
Primary responsibilities include teaching undergraduates in the area of the candidate's specialization. Selected candidates may be required to teach in Radford University's Core Curriculum and/or graduate courses as needed. Adjunct faculty shall be evaluated in every course, including summer session.
Required Qualifications
Adjunct faculty must hold an advanced degree or equivalent credentials based on experience consistent with accreditation criteria of the discipline and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).
All faculty must have at least a Master's degree in the field in which they are teaching with 18 graduate hours of course work related to the specified discipline. In some cases, subject to the approval by the Provost, recommendation for appointment may be based on the substitution of significant experience for the degree. A memo from the Dean placed in the instructor's personnel file is required to justify an exception to the accreditation standards of SACS and must include certification of the knowledge and skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Teaching experience desirable; Strong communication skills; Experience assessing classes; Classroom management skills.

If the applicant's official transcripts are on file in the Office of the Provost, a statement indicating such, must be submitted in lieu of the documents with the application. Official transcripts of all post-secondary course work will be required upon selection for hire.
