Job Description Summary
The Online Adjunct Faculty for Statistics for Healthcare Managers will be responsible for delivering engaging, high-quality instruction to graduate or undergraduate students in an online learning environment. The course is designed to equip healthcare professionals with statistical tools and methodologies applicable to healthcare management, decision-making, and research. The faculty member will develop course content, assess student learning, and provide support and feedback to ensure student success.
Required Education
All faculty members must provide minimum Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) credential standards which normally include a Master's degree with 18 graduate semester credit hours in the teaching discipline. Transcripts, certificates, and/or license must be submitted with application.
Required Experience
  • Demonstrated expertise in statistical methods and their application in healthcare settings.
  • At least 2-3 years of teaching experience, preferably in an online environment.
  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as Blackboard, Canvas, or Moodle.
  • Proficiency in statistical software such as SPSS, SAS, R, or Excel for data analysis.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex statistical concepts to students from various backgrounds.

Preferred Education
Master's or Doctorate degree in Statistics, Biostatistics, Healthcare Management, or a related field.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience working in or consulting with healthcare organizations, applying statistical analysis to real-world management problems.
  • Prior experience teaching statistics specifically to healthcare managers or healthcare professionals.
  • Experience developing online course content, including multimedia learning materials.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Deliver asynchronous and/or synchronous instruction on topics related to statistics, such as descriptive and inferential statistics, probability, data analysis, regression models, and their applications in healthcare management.
  • Design and develop course materials, including lectures, readings, case studies, and assignments, that are relevant to healthcare settings.
  • Provide timely and constructive feedback on student performance, including grading assignments, exams, and projects.
  • Support students through regular communication, virtual office hours, and discussion forums, addressing any questions or concerns.
  • Ensure the course content aligns with current trends in healthcare and statistical methods, integrating real-world healthcare management examples.
  • Participate in faculty meetings and contribute to program development as needed.

  • Expertise in statistical applications relevant to healthcare management, such as biostatistics, epidemiology, data interpretation, and statistical modeling for healthcare decisions.

Healthcare Systems and Data:
  • Understanding of healthcare systems, operations, and the types of data commonly used in healthcare (e.g., patient outcomes, operational metrics, quality data).
  • Familiarity with how statistics are applied to areas like healthcare quality improvement, public health, risk assessment, and performance benchmarking.

Statistical Software:
