Job description

Position Summary:
Performs operation to prepare and spring up frames and/or sub assemblies for upholstered and exposed wood frames. Works on a variety of models as assigned performing preparation, changing set-ups, springing and tying off if required for correct sprung frame or sub assembly. Check the assembly, spring up and frame for level performing all duties necessary to ensure completion of work is to quantity and quality standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Roll built frame to work station (roll conveyor/skid or buggy)
  • Read frame ticket to see what is specified to be used in frame in regards to type of spring.
  • Clip all rails that require nosag clips. Install proper nosag springs into clips. Beat clips shut w/ hammer and shoot w/ clip gun to secure. Attach tie wire w/ clinch gun then cover springs w/ spring cover material.
  • Install propex or cardboard to in arms/ corners of frame - attach w/ staple gun.
  • Place spring units at station by spring clerk, spring up then installs correct springs into frame using a screw gun after attaching the spring insulator pad (if required). Springs are then covered w/ spring cover using a staple gun.
  • Roll/push the job off their line on the roller conveyor or slide the sprung frame to line-up.
  • Perform other duties/ special or non-routine assignments as instructed.

Job Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to read and follow directions (verbal and written).
  • Basic math skills: counting, adding, subtracting.
  • Must be open to cross training as needed
  • Must be able to work closely with team members
  • Teamwork/Communication is a must
  • Eye to hand coordination is a must
  • Must be able to complete job duties in timely manner
  • Ability to pay close attention to details
  • Effective verbal communication skills
  • Excellent attendance record and must maintain attendance
  • Ability to work and make decisions with minimum supervision
  • Overtime as required, including possible Saturday work as needed
  • Work standing/walking 8-9 hrs a day
  • Must learn to read the frame ticket for appropriate spring applications
