What are part time specimen processors?

Part time specimen processors are laboratory professionals who are responsible for receiving, labeling, and preparing biological specimens, such as blood, urine, or tissue, for analysis. They work part-time hours, typically in medical labs, hospitals, or diagnostic centers, ensuring samples are accurately documented and processed according to strict protocols. Their duties may also include data entry, maintaining sample integrity, and communicating with healthcare staff. This role is essential for supporting laboratory operations and ensuring timely and accurate test results.

What job makes $10,000 a month without a degree?

A part-time specimen processor typically does not earn $10,000 a month; such high earnings are uncommon without extensive experience or specialized skills. Most jobs that pay this amount full-time require advanced education, certifications, or significant industry expertise. High-paying roles without a degree are rare and often involve entrepreneurship, sales, or specialized trades.

Mobile Phlebotomist - Genesis Reference Laboratories (GRL)

Wellspring USA LLC

Orlando, FL โ€ข On-site

$22 - $25/hr

Full-time, Part-time

Posted 19 days ago

Job description

Description:

Field-Based | Independent Role | Travel Required

Pay Range: $22โ€“$25/hour

Part-time to Full-time

Not your typical phlebotomy role:

If youโ€™re someone who:

  • Likes being on the move instead of stuck in one clinic
  • Takes pride in patient care... especially with elderly populations
  • Can manage your own day without someone looking over your shoulder
  • Wants a role that actually matters

What Youโ€™ll Be Doing:

Youโ€™ll be the face of Genesis in the fieldโ€”traveling between long-term care communities, collecting blood and urine specimens, and making sure everything gets back to the lab safely and on time.

This role is equal parts phlebotomist + problem-solver + relationship builder.

  • Travel between LTC communities daily (your route = your responsibility)
  • Perform blood draws + urine collections with confidence and care
  • Work closely with elderly patientsโ€”patience and compassion matter here
  • Handle specimen labeling, documentation, and chain of custody like a pro
  • Use our LIS system (Genuin) for orders and tracking
  • Transport all specimens back to the lab for processing
  • Build strong relationships with staff at each facility

What Your Day Feels Like:

No two days are exactly the sameโ€”but youโ€™ll always have structure.

  • Start your day with a plan
  • Hit your route across multiple LTC sites
  • Knock out collections efficiently (without rushing patient care)
  • Stay organized, communicate clearly, and keep things moving
  • Wrap your day by ensuring all specimens are delivered to the lab

Youโ€™ll Thrive Here If You:

  • Are confident in your phlebotomy skills
  • Can work independently and own your schedule
  • Stay calm, professional, and kind with patients
  • Take accountability seriously
  • Like being busy and productive

Letโ€™s Be Honestโ€”This Role Isnโ€™t for Everyone:

This wonโ€™t be a fit if you:

  • Need constant supervision
  • Struggle with time management or organization
  • Donโ€™t enjoy working with elderly patients
  • Prefer staying in one place all day

Why Genesis?

Weโ€™re not a stagnant lab.. weโ€™re growing fast.

  • More opportunities as we expand
  • A team that actually cares about doing things right
  • Work that directly impacts patient care every single day

Bottom Line:

Youโ€™re not just collecting samplesโ€ฆ youโ€™re keeping care moving for patients who rely on consistency and trust.

If that sounds like you, apply!

Requirements:
  • 1+ year of phlebotomy experience
  • Experience with elderly/LTC patients preferred
  • Reliable transportation (non-negotiable)
  • Comfortable working independently in a mobile role
  • Strong attention to detail + organization
  • Basic computer skills

Bonus Points If You Have:

  • Phlebotomy certification, CNA, or MA
  • Lab or specimen processing experience
  • Mobile healthcare or field-based experience
