JOB SUMMARY
  • The Maternal Fetal Ultrasound Sonographer works in a team environment to promote a positive experience in patient care with compassion and kindness. The Sonographer provides an excellent patient experience by taking responsibility for educating patients and performing procedures according to department protocols and professional standards. They support efficient clinic flow and communicate accurately and positively with team members.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS AND CORE COMPETENCIES

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited diagnostic medical sonography program. Meeting requirements of American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ADRMS).

  • Licensure: Registered Ultrasound Technologist RDMS/OB credential by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS). Have Nasal Bone Certification with Fetal Medicine Foundation, certified or eligible for certification in obstetrics and will complete Cervical Length Education Review (CLEAR) with the Perinatal Quality Foundation (or obtain within first year of employment). Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

  • Experience: Have knowledge and ability to follow AIUM obstetric protocols. Willingness to gain knowledge and competency in obstetric and gynecologic evaluations as directed by department.
