Job description

Quality Assurance Specialist
The Opportunity:
When a user tries a new system, they expect it to be intuitive and run smoothly. Functionality, reliability, and user experience are key to successful information systems, and that means rigorous testing. That's why we need you, a quality assurance specialist who is eager to thoroughly test software and help our team release the best systems possible.
As a Quality Assurance Specialist, you'll develop and perform tests of systems to identify hardware and software deficiencies and verify compliance with system requirements. You'll document software defects and requirement compliance, report defects to developers, and create and maintain databases of known issues. You'll also participate in software design reviews to provide input on functional requirements, operational characteristics, product designs, and schedules.
You'll work with software developers, network engineers, and system administrators to evaluate developed systems in a networked environment for the Department of War (DoW) warfighter. In addition, you will support simulator environments by validating that virtual systems accurately represent real-world platform behavior and mission conditions.
A key part of this role includes developing a strong understanding of mission profiles and operational workflows, then applying that knowledge to test planning and execution. You'll collaborate directly with pilots and other operational users to gather feedback, assess realism, and ensure the virtual environment reflects real-world performance, procedures, and constraints.
You'll expand your experience across testing disciplines, including manual, automation, performance, accessibility, usability, user acceptance testing, simulator support, and testing process improvement. You Have:
  • Experience in quality assurance or software testing
  • Knowledge of computer systems
  • Knowledge of testing software applications
  • A bility to work flexible hours and shift work
  • Secret clearance
  • HS diploma or GED and 2+ years of experience in quality assurance or software testing, or Bachelor's degree

Nice If You Have:
  • Experience working in an Agile SAFe environment
  • Experience with Scheduling Tools
  • Knowledge of JIRA, GitHub and Confluence
  • Knowledge of how systems operate within a networked environment
  • Ability to write and execute Test Plans
  • Possession of strong communication skills to communicate effectively
  • CompTIA Security+ Certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $52,900.00 to $108,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
