Youth Volleyball Official
Champaign Park District - Part-Time 2, Non-Exempt (not to exceed 19 hours per week on average)
About the JobDo you enjoy sports and creating positive experiences for athletes? As a Sports Official, you'll play an important role in ensuring youth and adult league games are safe, fair, and enjoyable for all participants. This position is ideal for individuals who have a strong understanding of sports rules, can make confident decisions under pressure, and enjoy being part of a team-oriented recreation environment.
Summary of Responsibilities- Officiate youth and/or adult league games and tournaments according to established rules and Park District policies.
- Make quick, impartial decisions and communicate calls clearly to players, coaches, and spectators.
- Promote sportsmanship and maintain a safe, positive environment during games.
- Manage and resolve conflicts effectively and professionally.
- Mentor and support less experienced officials when needed.
- Attend required meetings, training sessions, and workshops.
- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor while on duty.
- Follow all Park District safety policies and procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions.
- Adapt to officiating different recreation activities as assigned.
- Work evenings and weekends based on program schedules.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
