Your Opportunity
Our Houston, TX office is looking for a highly motivated Electrical Designer/EIT to join our growing, multi-disciplinary team. If you are an excellent communicator and skilled problem-solver with strong attention to detail, then we have a place for you on a team committed to delivering innovative designs for a diverse range of building projects.
Your Key Responsibilities
  • Produce aspects of electrical design and construction documents in Revit and/or AutoCAD while working with Electrical Engineers and other Electrical Designers/EITs.
  • Ensure designs meet applicable codes and regulations;
  • Perform calculations using company standard software and proprietary manufacturer software (Visual/AGI, SKM, etc);
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams during design and construction. Maintain effective communication and cooperation with and among these partners;
  • Perform construction site observation visits, assist with review of project submittals and RFIs.
  • Support managers to ensure projects stay within established budget constraints;
  • Maintain high satisfaction rating from clients through superior service, quality workmanship, timely production and thorough understanding of client requirements;
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the senior engineering staff.

Qualifications
  • LEED accredited professional is a plus
  • Knowledegable in applicable codes and standards related to buildings electrical design (i.e. NEC).
  • Proficient in Revit; Proficiency in AutoCAD is a plus
  • Functional knowledge of standard software (Visual/AGI, SKM) is a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to able to prioritize multiple tasks and demonstrate a flexible approach to work assignments
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a diverse team of staff and consultants
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards
  • Eligible for US Government Security clearance is a plus

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering is highly preferred
  • Engineer In Training (EIT) Certification is a plus
  • 3+ years design experience in electrical design for buildings. Experience in one or more of the following sectors is preferred: Higher Education, K-12, Commercial, Workplace, Science & Technology

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
Benefits Summary: Regular full-time and part-time employees (working at least 20 hours per week) have access to medical, dental, and vision plans, a wellness program, health saving accounts, flexible spending accounts, 401(k) plan, employee stock purchase program, life and accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) insurance, short-term/long-term disability plans, emergency travel benefits, tuition reimbursement, professional membership fee coverage and paid family leave. In addition, employees will be eligible to accrue vacation between 10 and 20 days per year and eligible for paid sick leave (and if more generous, in accordance with state and local law).
Temporary/casual employees have access to 401(k) plans, employee stock purchase program, and paid leave, in accordance with state and local law.
