Job description

JOB SUMMARY
Legendary 95.5 KLOS is seeking an experienced and engaging Part-Time/Relief On-Air Personality to provide on-air coverage as needed. This position will primarily provide coverage for regularly scheduled on-air personalities due to vacations, holidays, illness, leaves of absence, and other programming or operational needs.
The ideal candidate is a polished, versatile broadcaster who can step into various dayparts, connect authentically with the KLOS audience, and deliver compelling content consistent with the station's sound and brand.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide live or pre-recorded on-air coverage as assigned by the Program Director or station management.
  • Deliver engaging, authentic, and entertaining on-air content consistent with the KLOS brand and programming direction.
  • Prepare topical and relevant show content using current events, music, entertainment, online resources, and social media.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of rock music, the KLOS audience, and relevant pop-culture and entertainment news.
  • Operate the studio control console and station automation systems.
  • Execute contests, promotions, station imaging, and other programming elements according to station specifications.
  • Contribute content for digital, social media, and other station platforms as requested.
  • Attend station events, remote broadcasts, promotional appearances, or client appearances when scheduled.
  • Follow all FCC regulations, EAS requirements, station procedures, and Company policies.
  • Work collaboratively and professionally with Programming, Promotions, Engineering, Digital, Sales, and other station personnel.
  • Maintain a positive and cooperative attitude within the station and when representing KLOS in the community.
  • Perform other job-related duties and on-air assignments as required.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • Degree in mass communications, broadcasting, or a related field preferred, or equivalent professional broadcast experience.
  • Previous professional on-air radio experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of rock music and its influence on entertainment and pop culture.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop compelling, topical, and original on-air content.
  • Experience operating radio automation systems, studio equipment, VoxPro, Adobe Audition, or similar broadcast software preferred.
  • Experience creating content for social media and digital platforms.

SCHEDULE & AVAILABILITY
This is a part-time/relief position. Assignments will be offered and scheduled on an as-needed basis based on station coverage and operational needs. Hours will vary, and there is no guarantee of a minimum number of hours or shifts in any workweek.
Coverage opportunities may include vacations, holidays, illness, leaves of absence, and other programming needs. Flexibility to accept assignments across various dayparts, including weekdays, weekends, holidays, early mornings, and evenings, is preferred.

  • Work location: Burbank, California.
  • Must have authorization to work in the United States.
  • Must be willing to submit to a background investigation.
  • Valid driver's license and state-mandated automobile insurance may be required for assignments involving Company business or station appearances.
