Job Summary
The MSW Social Work Intern will support the Dean of Students Office in promoting student success and well-being. Under the supervision of an LCSW, this role provides direct experience in higher education student services, crisis response, case management, and advocacy. The intern will work closely with professional staff to assist students navigating personal, academic, and social challenges, while contributing to a safe and inclusive campus environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities & Knowledge Skills & Abilities
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide supportive case management for students experiencing personal, academic, or mental health challenges.
  • Assist in crisis intervention and follow-up support under supervision.
  • Participate in behavioral intervention processes as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with campus partners (e.g., Center for Health Counseling Services, Accessibility & Disability Services, Academic Advising) to coordinate student support.
  • Help develop and facilitate workshops or outreach programs on wellness, resilience, and resource awareness.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential documentation in accordance with FERPA and ethical standards.
  • Attend staff meetings, trainings, and supervision sessions.

Minimum qualifications
Currently enrolled in a Master of Social Work (MSW) program with approval from the program to participate in practicum.
Preferred Qualifications
Completion of foundational social work coursework.
Experience in crisis response, advocacy, or student support.
