Part-Time Social Studies Teacher – Grades 7–12

Tri-Township Jr./Sr. High School

Position: Part-Time

Daily Hours: Approximately 10:15 a.m.–2:45 p.m.

Start Date: Following the first nine weeks of the 2026–27 school year

Position Description

Tri-Township Jr./Sr. High School is seeking a Part-Time Social Studies Teacher to join our team following the first nine weeks of the 2026–27 school year.

This position offers a consistent part-time daily schedule and the opportunity to teach both middle and high school students in a small-school environment.

Teaching Assignment

The anticipated teaching assignment includes:

  • 7th Grade Social Studies
  • 8th Grade Social Studies
  • High School Geography
Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  • Plan and deliver engaging social studies instruction aligned with Indiana Academic Standards.
  • Create a positive, structured, and student-centered classroom environment.
  • Assess student learning and use results to guide instruction and provide additional support when necessary.
  • Build positive relationships with students and staff.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support student achievement and schoolwide goals.
  • Maintain appropriate classroom and student records.
  • Communicate effectively with students, families, and staff.
  • Perform other duties consistent with the responsibilities of the position.
Qualifications
  • Appropriate Indiana teaching license or ability to obtain appropriate licensure.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and classroom-management skills.
  • Ability to effectively teach both middle and high school students.
  • Commitment to student learning and building positive relationships.

Retired educators, educators seeking a part-time schedule, and qualified candidates interested in returning to the classroom are encouraged to apply.
