Job description

Location: Pala, CA
Accurately and efficiently correct minor machine malfunctions, process jackpots and enhance the guests' gaming experience to maximize slot handle. Promote a work environment that is pleasant and desirable.
  • Must have thorough understanding of the Pala Gaming commission pertaining to slot operations.
  • The ability to understand and comply with all departmental and company rules and regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with staff.
  • Ability to perform basic math.
  • Excellent cash handling skills.
  • Carry pouch with cash for quick and easy payment of jackpot winners as necessary.
  • Ability to handle a significant number of guests with outstanding guest service.
  • Perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy.
  • Prioritize and organize tasks.
  • Follow directions thoroughly.
  • Work cohesively with managers, supervisors and co-workers as part of a team.
  • Work independently with little to no supervision.
  • Ability to operate a two-way radio.
  • Computer experience in Microsoft Windows and Oasis Systems Interface.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Pala Gaming License.
  • Ability to perform assigned duties while still being able to listen and respond to radio communications.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
  • High School Diploma or GED required

Essential Job Functions:
  • Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with departmental policies and procedures.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of casino equipment including: two-way radio with earpiece and microphone, 10-key adding machine, and jackpot ticket printer.
  • Maintain compliance of all aspects of the Pala Casino internal controls.
  • Monitor and maintain compliance with all aspects of the Pala Gaming Commission.
  • Maintain clear and open communications with guests and managers/supervisors.
  • Evaluate operating procedures, recommend changes and implement-approved changes.
  • Be knowledgeable with all aspects of the Pala Players' Club Card and encourage guest participation.
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned work areas.
  • Perform job functions of additional positions as necessary.
  • Report to work as scheduled and follow the break schedule as posted/notified.
  • Respond to and open tilted slot machines to determine if maintenance is required.
  • Complete minor maintenance on slot machines.
  • Complete maintenance write-up for slot machines that require a slot technician.
  • Complete the Attendant Card every time a slot machine is opened.
  • Respond to slot machines with jackpots and determine if the jackpot is valid.
  • Calculate jackpot amounts for jackpots not registering on the Oasis system.
  • Process jackpot tickets manually when the Oasis system is not functioning.
  • Print jackpot tickets and process with appropriate signatures.
  • Obtain customer identification and complete appropriate tax forms to include: w2G, 1042, 1001 and W9.
