Boston Ski and Tennis in Newton, Ma, is hiring a part-time ski shop associate to drive exceptional customer service through our custom boot fitting program and our ski sales this upcoming season. We are searching for someone who is passionate about the skiing culture and crafts exceptional customer experiences through tailored product recommendations. This person will possess a solid understanding of the gear (skis, boots, accessories) along with the desire to learn the technical elements of boot fitting and build on current skill sets. The job requires someone who has the drive to improve their product knowledge and above all, naturally strives to provide friendly customer experiences. Join a fun, growing team who sets the standard in the ski and tennis industry!
Responsibilities Include:
Remain current on ski industry products and trends to share knowledge with customers
Determine guest needs and provide exceptional services
Provide exceptional customer service while assessing guests for the proper fit and boot selection
Learn how to do boot customizations / modifications
Learning to build custom foot beds and liners
Seek opportunities to elevate the customer experience and exceed expectations through creative and efficient problem-solving
Train and develop successful sales techniques
Adhere to safety procedures regarding use of tools and equipment
Merchandising of hard good products and adhering to the store cleanliness standards
Work with ski equipment. (No technician experience is required; we provide full training.)
Qualifications:
Strong customer service skill
Team player who works well in a collaborative environment and is eager to learn new skills from others
Strong multitasker capable of working in a high-energy, fast-paced retail setting
Passionate about creating an inviting atmosphere for customers and staff alike
Previous experience in boot fitting is a plus, but not required - we have an incredible staff ready to teach!
General knowledge and passion for the ski industry is preferred
Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
Regularly lift 50 pounds

Ability to demo/rent available skis, boards, and tennis racquets
Flexible schedule needed; shifts range from 9:00 am -7:00pm. Must be available weekdays, weeknights, weekends, and holidays
Must be dependable, hard-working, and enjoy working as part of a team
Education: High school or equivalent (Preferred)
