Job Summary and Qualifications

The Radiological Technologist performs a variety of technical procedures that require rational independent judgement, ingenuity, and initiative in performing standard examinations in the diagnosis and treatment of disease.

What you will do in this role:

  • Demonstrates competency in radiation exposure and monitoring.
  • Demonstrates competency in ALAR and dose equivalent limits.
  • Demonstrates competency and knowledge of Radiation physics.
  • Demonstrates competency with critical behaviors and age specific care.
  • Demonstrates competency with appropriate method of patient identifiers. Two ID’s.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of proper radiation protection of patients and employees in accordance with ACR, NRC, and ARRT (time, distance, shielding).
  • Demonstrates knowledge of automatic exposure control (AEC)
  • Demonstrates knowledge of image processing and quality assurance.
  • Demonstrates knowledge for criteria for image evaluation.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of image distortion (magnification, OID, SID).
What qualifications you will need:
  • Must have graduated from an accredited school of Radiological Technology with an Associates degree or equivalent.
  • BCLS required
  • Must be A.R.R.T. (RT).
  • Must have Texas Medical Board license (TMB)
  • Clinical experience is preferred
