Job Title: Cart Runner
Reports To: Guest Services Manager

As a Cart Runner at Festival Foods, you'll play a vital role in delivering exceptional service by assisting guests with parcel pick-up and ensuring carts are readily available. Whether rain or shine, your dedication to maintaining a welcoming and safe environment sets the stage for an outstanding shopping experience. 


At Festival Foods, we believe in creating meaningful and genuine interactions with our guests. As a Cart Attendant, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring that every customer receives outstanding service while contributing to a friendly and inviting shopping experience.


What You’ll Do:
As a Cart Runner at Festival Foods, your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing Outstanding Service: Ensure that each customer (we call them guests) receives exceptional service in a friendly environment. Whether it’s a friendly greeting, answering questions or addressing guest concerns, you’ll handle each interaction with professionalism and care. Your willingness to help guests with what they need will make a positive impact every day. 
  • Creating a Welcoming Atmosphere: Be friendly, courteous, and cooperative while effectively communicating with associates and customers.
  • Upholding Standards: Maintain Guest Services expectations and standards.
  • Cart Collection: Collect shopping carts from the parking lot and surrounding areas, returning them to the store in all weather conditions.
  • Parcel Pickup: Perform prompt parcel pick-up service to enhance customer convenience.
  • Share and Solve: Share customer requests with management to enhance the shopping experience and feel empowered to resolve issues proactively as they arise.
  • Support the Team: Other duties as assigned, including supporting superior customer service initiatives.
  • Honor Commitments: Regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule and adequate notice to find a replacement for occasional absences.

What We’re Looking For:
To succeed as a Festival Foods Cart Runner, you should have:

  • Strong Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with associates and customers.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to read, count, and write accurately.
  • Equipment Operation: Proficiency in operating all necessary equipment to perform the job efficiently.
  • Product Integrity: Ability to bag efficiently while maintaining product integrity.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

The physical demands and work environment described below are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions. 

  • The associate must possess the ability to stand in place for long periods of time; walk in the store; bend, stoop and lift or push up to 50 lbs on a regular basis. 
  • Requires fine finger and broad manual dexterity, and eye-hand-foot coordination in order to operate equipment. 
  • Ability to work varied hours/days, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed in all weather conditions

Work Schedule:
The work schedule may include mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
