Job description

Description This position will assist the Men's Head Rugby coach in providing coaching expertise and administrative duties for the Men's Rugby program on a part-time basis. Examples of Duties Aid in organization and assist in supervision for all practices and contests. Perform specific coaching and administrative responsibilities as assigned.

Assist coaching staff in implementing a recruiting program to attract outstanding student-athletes to attend Loyola University. Conduct said duties within the rules and regulations of NAIA, SSAC, any additional Rugby governing bodies, and the University. Perform other duties as assigned by the Men's Rugby Head Coach.

Typical Qualifications Minimum High school diploma, GED, or equivalent. Bachelor's degree preferred. Minimum of 1 year coaching experience, manager experience or GA experience.

Must possess leadership and coaching skills appropriate for the sport, as well as the development of characteristics including, but not limited to, time management and organization . Ability to work effectively with college student-athletes, faculty, staff, alumni and members of the community. A philosophy of intercollegiate athletics which places the highest emphasis on the pre-eminence of the academic mission of the institution and role of athletics as a part of the student's total educational experience for both the student-athlete and the student non-athlete.

A well developed personal system of ethical values which will be used as the basis for supervising and developing the intercollegiate program. Beliefs basically supportive of and compatible with the principles of Catholic, Jesuit higher education and the specific goals of the university. Must possess and maintain a current valid driver's license as a condition of employment, and must also be able to successfully pass any driver background information investigation and any driver education courses required by Risk Management.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS The assistant Men's Rugby Coach will be responsible for coaching student athletes to a competitive Varsity level standard and continue to raise the bar week to week. The assistant Men's Rugby Coach must be able to lift equipment in aiding with practices and competition as well as drive and transport athletes if needed. Ability to perform job duties with or without reasonable accomodations.

In accordance with the Campus Security Act as amended, Loyola University publishes annually and distributes to members of the academic community, and upon request to prospective (students/employees), an annual security report. That report includes current policies and procedures of the University Police Department for the reporting of campus crimes, notifying the campus community of occurrence of campus crimes, policies regarding access to campus buildings, the enforcement authority of the University Police Officers and their relationship to local police. University policies on the possession, use and sale of alcohol and illegal drugs are outlined.

The Campus sexual Assault Program and policy is described. Campus crime statistics as defined under this law for the last three calendar years are included. A copy of this report may be secured from the (Office of Admissions), (Office of Human Resources), or from the University Police Department.
