Job description

Job Summary:

Responsible for providingsecurity for residents, employees and visitors of Christwood. Protects campus buildings, assets and premises as assigned.

Performance Requirements:

  • Patrols facility buildings and premises to preventfire, theft, vandalism and intruders. Monitors conduct of visitors on premises;confronts unauthorized persons for questioning, as needed. Reports safetyand/or fire hazards or security violations.
  • Participates in investigations; maintains records andprepares incident reports and other documents pertinent to security activities.
  • Secures and/or unlocks offices and facilities asrequired. May secure resident valuables or lost and found articles; maintainslog of items received.
  • Controls parking and traffic flow; enforces parkingregulations.
  • Maintains established campus policies and procedures,objectives, quality assurance, safety, environmental and infection control.
  • Maintains records, reports, files as required.
  • Consults with and keeps supervisor informed ofactivities, needs and problems in assigned areas.
  • Responds to calls for assistance in a prompt, courteousand efficient manner.
  • Attends all meetings and in-services, as required.
  • Responds to ambulances and first responders on campusimmediately.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to read, write, and understand and followinstructions in English, communicate effectively, and perform simplearithmetic.
  • Must be able to make decisions quickly and inaccordance with established protocol.
  • Must have or be willing to be trained in firstresponder and first aid training.
  • Two years' experience in security preferred.

Working Environment &Physical Requirements:

Light to moderate physical effort90% of the time.  May be exposed toelements (heat, cold, rain, snow). Ability to push, pull and lift in excess of 50 lbs.  Ability to walk 90% of the workday.  Ability to stoop and stretchoccasionally.  Must observe universalprecautions.
