Position Summary:
This position is under the direct supervision of the Site Supervisor and is responsible for supervising Armed Security Officers, protecting, safeguarding and securing assets, personnel, customers and visitors to a federal facility. Job duties include, but are not limited to:
Essential functions
  1. Be able to read and understand the English language to effectively carry out applied printed rules, detailed orders, instructions, and training materials. Have a command of both the written and spoken English language to properly and clearly communicate in person or via electronic devices (telephone and radio) with co-workers and the general public.
  2. The ability to maintain a professional, tactful and courteous demeanor under stressful situations security personnel routinely encounter.
  3. Be able to compose in the English language precise short paragraphs, written reports, and other reports as necessary.
Job Duties
  1. Performs security patrols.
  2. Enforces access control procedures.
  3. Protects property from theft, embezzlement, sabotage, fire and accidents.
  4. Investigates and writes reports on accidents, incidents, suspicious activities, safety and fire hazards and other security related situations.
  5. Provide assistance to customers, employees and visitors following the department's procedures.
  6. May perform other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor
Candidate Qualifications:
  1. United States citizen
  2. At least 21 years of age
  3. HS diploma or GED
  4. Possess at least three (3) years of security experience within the last five (5) years
  5. Must be able to fluently speak, read, and write the English language.
  6. Must possess or be able to obtain the State Security Guard Certification Card, State Handgun Permit and firearms qualification permits.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications:
  1. The applicant is required to submit to pre-employment medical exam and drug screening.
  2. The applicant must be able to pass an NLIC / State / Local Background check and Credit check (as applicable).
  3. The applicant must obtain client/site suitability approval
  4. Additional training required.
